REGISTRATION AND DEPOSIT

We encourage you to register for the trip as soon as possible, as space is limited. Places will be reserved on a first come first serve basis, until the trip is filled to capacity. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. As soon as you register, we will be in contact with you, following up with next steps and ensuring you are ready and prepared for a wonderful experience that you will never forget or regret attending.

  1. The deposit must be sent with each registration in order to reserve a place.

  2. Deadline for registration and balance of payment is 45 days prior to beginning of each trip.

COSTS

Total cost listed with each trip includes deposit, all team equipment and supplies, (except items on the following list of supplies) food while at lodge and on the trail, accommodations while staying at the Mountain Light Lodge, extra curricular activities such as the hot springs, train ride (listed on the trip page), and insurance for activities during the backpack portion of the trip, (policy limitations and exclusions will be made available for review upon request).

Discounts available:

  1. If you individually fly or drive directly into the Pagosa/Durango area, (not carpooling with the group from Houston) we will reduce your total trip price by $150* see information below under arrival-departure-transportation.

  2. Married couples attending the trip together, we will reduce by $100 each for a total of $200.

  3. For each individual person you invite, they register and attend the trip, we will reduce your total by $100.

PAYMENTS

Full trip payment is required no later than 45 days prior to departure date. The deposit will hold your spot. All payments will be fully refunded if you are able to find a replacement.

  1. Joshua 1 Ministries reserves the right to cancel or alter trip locations and status due to insufficient reservations, unsafe conditions, or Forest Service Regulations.

  2. If cancellation of a trip becomes necessary your payment will be fully refunded.

ARRIVAL - DEPARTURE - TRANSPORTATION

The leadership team and many of the participates will be driving/carpooling from Houston, TX - leaving on Saturday via Santa Fe, NM to Pagosa Springs, CO on Sunday. This group will be staying the night in Santa Fe, NM for an evening of altitude acclimation. Transportation, Hotel and Sunday continental breakfast will be included in the total fee.

If you are not traveling with the group carpooling from Houston, TX you will be expected to arrange your own transportation.  If you have difficulty arranging transportation, please let us know. Perhaps we can coordinate with others going your way. If you choose to fly, we will arrange transportation/pickup/dropoff to and from the airport in Durango or Pagosa Springs. If you are not traveling with the Houston, TX group, you will be expecting to arrive into the Durango Airport, or driving into the Pagosa Springs area between 1:00 and 5:00 PM on the first day of your trip (Sunday). *If you individually fly or drive into the Pagosa/Durango area, we will reduce your total trip price by $150.

Departure for the whole group will be expected after breakfast on the last day of your trip. (Saturday morning around 6-7am).

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR BACKPACKING

Bring only supplies listed below. All other equipment (quality backpacks, lightweight tents, stoves, cook gear, day-packs, sleeping pads, water purification, food, basic gear, equipment, and safety equipment) will be supplied. Make your choices as lightweight and compact as possible. Remember you will be carrying what you bring plus your share of team equipment. Pack supplies in stuff sacks or plastic bags within a duffel bag.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM

It is highly recommended that you consult with your personal physician prior to participation. Many trips are conducted in outdoor, remote locations at altitudes of 8,000ft - 14,000ft with the possibility of weather extremes. Strenuous, continuous physical activity, over varied terrain, including carrying a 45 - 65lb backpack may be required. Each participant will be required to read and sign a Medical Release Form.

CORSAR CARD

Everyone who participates in a back country trip needs a Colorado Outdoor Recreation Search and Rescue (CORSAR) card

ARE YOU PREPARED

We highly suggest you begin a physical conditioning program consisting of jogging, push-ups and sit-ups, as soon as you determine you will be participating in one of our trips. For maximum safety, participants will be expected to cooperate with staff in charge of their trip. Tobacco, alcoholic beverage or illegal drugs are not permitted on trips at any time.
